KUALA LUMPUR: Melaka and Pahang have fully recovered from the floods that hit the states since the beginning of this month after the last three temporary relief centres (PPS) were closed on Tuesday (March 14).
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 43,136 flood victims are still taking shelter at temporary relief centres (PPS) in four states as of Sunday (March 12) morning.
KUANTAN: The Pahang Fire and Rescue Department is hard at work putting out forest fires which have broken out in three districts in the state.
Its director Wan Mohammad Zaidi Wan Isa said they had been receiving calls about fires since early March. Aerial observation carried out by our air unit based in Subang found several areas in Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin on fire, he said.
In Kuantan, up to 3ha of land in Kampung Alur Beruang near the Penor Prison was in flames while in Pekan, 2ha in Kampung Cenderawasih, Sungai Miang were also on fire.
In Rompin, fire spread out to about 30% of 1,000ha of land near a plantation while 2ha in Kampung Menchali, Leban Chondong were also burning.
