Eleven-year-old boys are too small for big school
It s no surprise Year 7 pupils have enjoyed being kept away from the nasty, brutish older years. This is one Covid policy we should keep

My eldest son is due to begin secondary school in a year. The emails from his primary, about options, and one-on-one meetings with the head to decide next steps, have already started. I’m not quite sure how we’ve ended up here – it seems like only yesterday that he was tightly clutching my hand, wearing his slightly-too-big school sweatshirt, on the way to his first day in Reception.
