Awards and honors
Angela Seidel, business administration department chair and associate professor of accounting at Saint Francis University, was recently awarded the IMA Accounting Faculty of the Year Award from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education.
Seidel was appointed to the accounting faculty in 2013 and was named chair of the business administration department in 2020. She has been a finalist for several teaching awards, holds the certified management accounting certification, is co-adviser for the Accounting Club and promotes effective teaching of accounting through both her research and service.

Daniel Anderson, English and communications professor at Mount Aloysius College, recently had an article published on PopMatters, a prominent pop culture website. The website boasts 1.4 million unique monthly readers and includes written works on topics ranging from music to film to books.

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. ââ After six years of working in the same kitchen, Charlie Blake traded in his apron and chef hat to be a stay-at-home dad.
In August he walked away from his well-paying position as corporate executive chef for Cambridge Village of Wilmington to care for his 7-month-old baby and help his 7-year-old daughter with her remote school work.
âIt’s definitely a lot of change: being a 60-hour-a-week chef to now being home with the kids,â Blake said, âdoing laundry and cleaning the toilet and being a teacher for first grade.â
