Currahee did not respond to Jan. 25 messages seeking comment.
Currahee was ejected by the Asheville Brewers Alliance this spring after they put out the Boogaloo Imperial Stout with an image of George Washington wearing a Hawaiian shirt, garb associated with the Boogaloo Bois who have shown up armed at protests and state houses. Members of the movement have been charged in the ambush-style killing and wounding of police.
ABA spokeswoman Leah Rainis declined to comment about Currahee products being pulled from Ingles.
In a May 31 Facebook post, Currahee said they had made the beer in protest of gun control legislation but did not know about the name s link to right-wing extremism. The company said they would stop making the stout and give any profits to Civil Rights organizations.
