League Play commences in Black Ops Cold War by: Rob - posted: 2/10/2021 8:03:00 PM
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has kicked off its League Play slate this week. Initially introduced in Black Ops 4, League play is the most played competitive mode in the Black Ops series. In it you get a chance to test your skills as you rise up through 30 different rank tiers, playing the same maps and modes that the pros compete with. So there s no confusion, League Play is entered by an entirely different menu placed in between multiplayer and zombies.
Initially you play 5 test matches to earn your starting rank, then rise and fall based on your performance from there. League Play Events run twice a week: a Weekday Event Monday-Friday and the Weekend Event Friday-Monday. Climb the ladder in each event and use that to move forward with your next Rank promotion.
“As always, we’ll continue to monitor feedback and game data to ensure a fun and competitive experience with regard to rules and content restrictions in League Play.
“Our ultimate goal is to deliver a more varied experience for players by offering certain variations on the rules, while providing an experience similar to what the pros are playing in the CDL.
“Keep your feedback coming, check out the new changes in place today, and keep on climbing to the top.”
From now on, players logging into League Play for the first time should now see preset CDL classes instead of empty custom classes in Create-a-Class. Players should also be able to save their custom classes properly in League Play without issues.

The developer said Black Ops Cold War s League Play is built on the foundations of Black Ops 4 s ladder system. However, it will offer more ranks for competitive fans to climb during League Play events.
Black Ops 4 had a World League Hub from which you could compete in a Pro Series playlist using the same game modes, rules, maps and restrictions the pros play with.
