This morning two major weather systems are sweeping into the united states. One is blanketing the plains with arcticlike air, and the other is hitting california with potentially floodproducing rain. Northern california was socked yesterday with rain and strong wind. Urban flooding is possible in San Francisco through tomorrow. The heavy rain caused a mudslide along the Pacific Coast highway. A sixmile stretch of the road was shut down. On saturday powerful waves pounded the boardwalk. At Redondo Beach homes and roads were flooded and some homes were evacuated.
