A Leading Mermaid Academy has put a call out for Irish swimming teachers to train as Mer-Instructors . Mermaids UK offers mermaid classes, experiences and training opportunities for aspiring Mermaids and Mermen .
Director of the academy Charlotte Smart says mermaid of monofin swimming has been increasingly popular in recent years.
She says it allows people of all ages to have fun and escape the hardship for everyday life.
Plans had been in place to expand into Ireland pre-COVID.
