proposals on the table every day is a new mini-cr to fund some small part of the government. that is not a resolution to the crisis, at least when the issue was delay the mandate for a year and make our staff pay more for health care. i understood what the demands are. i don t understand what the demands are or what s achievable what s the out ear? here? i m not even sure if the leadership really knows, chris. i was just talking to republican leadership sources, and they re really worried that if they can t sell a small-board deal to house conservatives and to senate conservatives, there is a real risk of default because conservatives, many of them have dug in their heels so much because as tim mentioned, there s this outside money, this outside narrative building that unless there s a full delay for defundable obama care, conservatives will oppose it, and that s a real problem for boehner. you and i share this, this disposition to distrust the establishment, to distrust wall str
reid urged the president don t even talk to congressional leaders. he talked to iran do not talk to leaders. robert that s stale. do you think that gets him where he need to be at this point? it gets him where he need to be within the republican base. when senator cruz has done in less than a year in office. raise expectations within divided government on the right that make defunding or negotiating out a compromise with harry reid seem like a realistic goal. when you talk to leadership sources. senator cruz is raising expectations making it hard for any real deal to emerge. yeah, hit it on the head. if the final strategy is to the get the president to sign the cancellation of obama care, right? i don t think there is a strategist around who believes that. we have been playing footage of everyone saying so. i would disagree a little bit. he has the impact. not sure the strategy exists.

republican switching sides. early sunday morning, the house voted again. it was almost identical, 2230, 189. this time two democrats and two republicans passing sides. this week the senate passed its version also straight along party lines funding obama care. dana bash is standing by up on capitol hill. how is today s senate action different from what we saw last week? i expect we ll see the same thing come out of the senate in the next few hours. that s exactly right. it s going to be the same when you re talking about the outcome, it will be different with regard to how long it s going to take. we expect if senate democratic leadership sources are correct in their assessment, we expect that they re likely to reject this in warp speed. they re coming into the senate which is down behind me in the capitol in less than an hour. and we re told that by 2:30 eastern, so an hour and a half from now they re likely to reject what the house sent over after midnight on saturday night
speaker john boehner is putting pressure on senator cruz and other senate conservatives to fall through. to get the votes for defunding, but of course we know that s going to be very difficult. here s the thing. the reason that the drama seems so high and the reason that people are now going at each other in the public spotlight is everyone understands, they are now all collectively pursuing a doomed strategy. i mean, is that realization dawning on everyone? that s exactly right. there s really a strange thing happening within the republican party. we saw in the summer, senator ted cruz went on a nine-city tour with heritage foundation, with heritage action, stoking activists. telling activists that de-funding is a possibility. it got so big in the conservative movement, as an idea, as a cause, that they re now having to go through the motions, pass this vote in the house, but there ll have to be a plan b. and behind the scenes, when i talked to my leadership sources, they re alr
