The race is on to find his replacement after tuesdays stunning vote removed him from the top leadership post. Several names of possible success
caucus more than any other person keeping it together both in the minority and the majority. and if she were to step aside it would prompt a leadership scramble to replace her. in talking to democrats? a you at one point tried to oust her. what do you think about that. i think she s a historic speaker. i think she s a historic speaker who has accomplished an incredible amount but i also think there are a lot of democrats ready for a new cl chapter. i feel comfortable saying that i believe that every member of the congressional caucus would vote for hakeem jeffries. reporter: if she were to step aside, jeffries is the front-runner to succeed her. steny hoyer has not said what he would do, so there could be a fight ahead of the november 30th
so everybody is in a bit of a holding pattern until she ultimately decides. but if she were to step aside, the ramifications were significant. she s someone who has been the central figure in her caucus for past two decades and led this caucus through the majority and the minority and if she were to accept aside it would prompt a leadership scramble to replace here and a election scheduled for november 30th. there have been some members within the democratic caucus who has called for some change. she s faced pressure that have said it is time for now members and she agreed this is the last congress leading this her caucus. but she s not firmly shut the door on that issue. but talking to congressman seth moulton, he suggested it is time for a new chapter. what do you at one point tried to oust her. what do you think about that? i think she s a historic speaker. she s a historic speaker. who has accomplished an
house democratic caucus. she hasn t fully shut the door on that issue yet. in talking to dem crass, it s clear they re waiting, watching her very closely and not saying yet whether they would back her for the top democratic spot. listen. do you think pelosi should do it again? i think pelosi will make that decision for herself. sounds like you re undecided who you think should run? we re going to take a look at whoever is running. she s been such a leader for our caucus and pushed some of the most impactful legislation that we ve seen in this country s history, the work that she s done. i want to wait to see what she decides to do. those are two incoming considerate members, part of the new class of freshmen in washington this week meeting and trying to get a sense of what to do next. what pelosi does next will have a significant impact on the democratic caucus as a leadership scramble will ensue if she decides to step aside.
