jeffrey, glad to have you, thanks for joining us. good morning, thank you. scouts have been part of your life since you were 8 years old, so your reaction to what bob gates had to say there is what? it s encouraging to see that they agree with us that the current course is unsustainable and it must be changed. okay. but are you concerned at all about the proposal that individual troops be able to decide for themselves whether to allow gay leaders instead of putting out a broad spectrum you know nationwide international doctrine for that? yeah i think it s problematic. they are trying to remove the national body from legal jeopardy in this decision and dissolving that ability to local councils and sponsoring organizations. i think that that puts them at risk and that the better leadership move would be to make a blanket policy change that is inclusive of everyone. there is a concern and comes
[ kissing noise ] when we make decisions, i ll let you know. joining me senior political editor mark murray. we had movement as expected in the senate here. absolutely tamron. what the senate has done is pass its clean funding legislation as we all saw what was coming over the last couple days. now the situation moves to the house of representatives, and tamron, what the house republican leaders propose is a three week extension, essentially kicking the can down the road fund it for three weeks, without it tied to president obama s immigration policies and have that fight later. the question is whether house republicans will go along with this leadership move. democrats are against this. we have seen in the past when john boehner needs his 217, 218 votes to pass something with republicans, sometimes that s back fired on them. it has. when you hear speaker boehner say it is senate democrats that
welcoming them to come and try something. talk about fire. this on the heels of another report overseas that a lot of people who sign up for isis are not having a good time. they want to go home. there is no running water. others are forced to go on the front lines and no one taught them how to fight. that is the problem with getting recruited. you probably didn t read the whole brochure. i wouldn t let them come back. if they go, stop letting them back in your country, all these european nations. great work for the recipient of the medal of honor. so strong in taking the lead in saying you may try to take this or that, you re not taking my social media. he has a huge presence. leadership move, congratulations to you and thank you again for such strength. meanwhile bring it on headlines with ainsley earhardt. good morning, guys. thank you so much. good to see you. here s what happened while you were sleeping overnight. she made her name producing soap operas like these. and
is currently in leadership move into that role. is that right? ross, the house majority whip, congressman kevin mccarthy, from california, is somebody who has good relations with members but he might be eyed wearily by the groups. everybody thinks he has the inside track i m think an irony, cantor lost in part, we think, because he was perceived as too soft on immigration from everything we know, mccarthy is much more enthusiastic about a comprehensive immigration proposal than cantor ever was, within leadership let s listen to house majority leader, eric cantor. good afternoon. first of all, i just want to talk a little bit about what happened last night and then going forward. you know, growing up in the jewish faith, you know, i group up, went to hebrew school, read a lot in the old testament and learn a lot about individual
didn t allow a vote. the house will pass something like this. so is this just pro forma posturing by some of these pro-drilling democrats or are we really going to see something happen? it is posturing to some degree. and this gets into the tricky politics of this. the white house has always played a very careful walk with natural gas. they like to say they re in favor of it, again, because it resonates with americans, but their environmental base hates gas. they hate fracking. they have threatened to have repercussions if the white house embraces this. so harry reid did block that vote. i think the real test of whether or not these democrats mean what they say is whether or not they insist that their leadership move ahead on this. and it s a good illustration of how green energy politics and the focus on renewables has hurt western european independence energy security and made it more vulnerable to supplies from the soviet union. good lesson for us. we have to take one more
