A letter has been sent by Saskatchewan’s Minister of Highways Fred Bradshaw to federal Transport Minister Omar Alghabra asking that his ministry halt any plans to close the Nav Canada-operated air traffic control tower at the Regina International Airport. The letter follows last week’s revelations that air traffic controllers received layoff notices, even though Nav Canada has maintained no decision has been made on the tower’s closure while a review is underway.
