26-year-old motorcyclist killed in crashes on I-83

26-year-old motorcyclist killed in crashes on I-83 Updated 6:48 AM; York County Coroner Pam Gay identified the victim as Patrick Clafferty of York Township. Gay said Clafferty was northbound on I-83 when he lost control of his bike just past the Leader Heights exit. He was thrown from the motorcycle into the concrete median wall, she said. No other vehicles were involved in that crash. However, it quickly triggered a second wreck involving two SUVs and two tractor-trailers, Gay said, and Clafferty was struck while lying on the road. “Clafferty’s motorcycle ultimately ended up between the two SUVs and Clafferty was caught under one of the SUVs, dying at the scene,” Gay reported.
