The Global Role of the OECD and the Case for Collective Action and Multilateralism in the Post-COVID World
The OECD commemorated the 60th anniversary of the signature of the OECD Convention. As part of the occasion, this Stakeholders panel brought together high-level representatives from subnational governments, international organisations, private sector, civil society and academia, including former government leaders to broaden the discussion and complement on the outcomes of the discussions from the Leaders Event on 14 December.
The discussion focused on multilateralism and the need for collective action across a wide range of stakeholders to “build back better” in the aftermath of the worst health, economic and social crisis the world has known since the Second World War. This includes addressing challenges and opportunities raised by climate change, inequalities, or the emergence of digital technologies, including the tax challenges of the digital economy.
