A suggestion frontline Police officers don t need to be armed 11 July 2021
It comes after an officer was shot and injured on Friday night in Hamilton.
A 23-year-old man and 27 year old face charges and will appear in the Hamilton District Court tomorrow.
The incident s prompted calls for officers to be armed at all times.
Hamilton Mayor Paula Southgate disagrees.
She says she ll be working with Police, and they will determine what to do moving forward.
The officer remains in a stable condition.
