BATON ROUGE, La. The Louisiana Department of Education is searching for highly motivated educators who want to contribute to the next wave of instructional resources. Applications are now being accepted (will open in new tab) for the next cohort of Teacher Leader Advisors.
Teacher Leader Advisors (TLAs) are exceptional educators from across Louisiana who play an influential role in raising expectations for students and supporting the success of teachers. The 2021-2022 TLAs will use their robust knowledge of teaching and learning to review and create the next wave of high-quality instructional materials and training tools that will be used by thousands of teachers across the state.
LDE launches tutoring initiative to address unfinished learning, improve academic achievement

The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) is taking an active role to support school systems as they meet the academic needs of students. Accelerate is a new initiative to provide high-quality tutoring lessons in ELA and math to school systems across the state. School systems can offer this additional support to students virtually, in-person, during school or outside of the school day. The LDOE is allocating $1 million in seed money to begin the initiative.
The LDOE believes all students, including students with disabilities, English learners, and students who persistently struggle, can achieve grade-level standards. Accelerate is focused on identifying, celebrating and building upon the assets students bring to the learning experience.
