Courtesy photo CARDINGTON Her concern about the tone of civility among the general population, led Lea Ann Macyeko to consult with local clergy. With their support and approval she has organized “Love Will Heal,” a group that she hopes will be approved as non-profit organization. A web site was set up: “Love will heal.org” and colors were selected to be used on the different forms of publicity. “We thought about red and black,” said Maceyko, “but didn’t think people would go for just Cardington colors.”

Cardington pays for work at plant CARDINGTON Topics were wide ranging when Village Council met Monday, April 19. Addressing council was Dave Krock, partner with OHM advisors engineering firm, who described the shortage in funding and the additional engineering costs for the recent upgrading of the water treatment plant. Council approved the additional payment to the firm in the amount of $50,000. Krock was accompanied by the village’s engineer, Scott Hines. On other business: • Wes Goodman. representing Friends of Cardington, and Rick Mitchell from Bunker’s Mill Winery described the planned Wine Arts Festival taking place in Cardington on Sept. 25. • Lea Ann Maceyko with Friends of Cardington, detailed plans for the festival planned for the village in June. Among the attractions will be the annual fireworks sponsored by Cardington Yutaka Technologies. Council donated $1,000 to the event.

Courtesy photo CARDINGTON Members of Chester Arbor of the Gleaners Society met April 12 at the Miller Center, where the program was given by Susie Sexton, family and civic engagement coordinator with the Arbor. Also present was one of Sexton’s students, Lily. Highlights of the meeting included how COVID has impacted the program at school. A tour of the school followed the business meeting. Attending were 25 members and six guests including the society’s newest community service award recipient, 2020, Lea Ann Maceyko, who explained her campaign to “Love One Another.”
