Long journey leads Leo Mireles to LBJ Laredo Morning Times FacebookTwitterEmail MirelesDanny Zaragoza /Laredo Morning Times Family was the motivation behind Leo Mireles returning to Laredo, and family speaks to the type of culture he aims to establish at LBJ High School. He had his first official day as the Wolves’ football head coach Friday and met with his new student-athletes. It also marked the end of a two-year stretch of commuting more than 20 hours per week to be the head coach at Rio Grande City. “More than anything, just being here for my family solidified the deal right there,” Mireles said. “I’m happy and excited to be back with UISD. I have worked a majority of my career here with eight years at Alexander and six at United. I’ve worked well with them. I’m happy. It is a comfort.”
