Delta Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has called on the Federal Government to support willing states to establish ranches as alternative to open grazing.
Okowa made the call on Sunday at the third session of the 15th Synod of Asaba Diocese of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, held at St John’s Anglican Church, Okwe, Oshimili South Local Government Area.

Following the demise of Pa Okorie Okowa, father of Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, on Thursday, January 28, 2021, sympathisers thronged the Owa-Alero residence of the deceased octogenarian in Ika North East Local Government Area on Friday, to commiserate with the first family of the state.
The sympathisers were received by the governor, his wife, Edith and other members of the family.
Among them were the Chairman, Delta State Traditional Rulers Council and the Obi of Owa Kingdom, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II; members of Owa Council of Chiefs led by Chief Kenneth Okocha; Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Alli; Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Chief Kingsley Esiso; Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Chiedu Ebie and the Chief of Staff, Government House, Asaba, Chief David Edevbie.

Delta State Governor Dr.Ifeanyi Okowa on Saturday said the Teachers Professional Development Centre and the Federal Road Safety Training School in the state would be ready for inauguration in February.
The governor made the disclosure after inspecting the extent of work done at both centres at Owa-Alero, Ika North East Local Government Area.
