PUTRAJAYA: The Court of Appeal here on Tuesday (Aug 16) dismissed an appeal by two Sabahans to reinstate a lawsuit against PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang for allegedly making seditious remarks against Christians.

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang (pix) today has succeeded in his bid to strike out an originating summons filed against him by two Sabahans over an alleged seditious remark against Christians which was published in Harakah newspaper five years ago.
High Court Judge Datuk Akhtar Tahir in his decision, allowed the application by Abdul Hadi to quash the suit filed by Maklin Masiau and Lawrence Jomiji Kinsil @ Maximilhian as the first and second plaintiffs, saying that the suit has no locus standi, frivolous and an abuse of court process.
KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court has struck out a lawsuit filed by two Sabahans against PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang over an alleged seditious statement against Christianity.
High Court judge Justice Akhtar Tahir allowed Abdul Hadi s application to strike out the originating summons filed by Maklin Masiau and Lawrence Jomiji Kinsil @ Maximilhian, who are the first and second plaintiffs respectively, on grounds that the suit was frivolous and an abuse of the court process.
In his decision, Justice Akhtar said the plaintiffs had failed to produce primary evidence in the form of a Harakah article – where Abdul Hadi was said to have made the statement – and produced secondary evidence, which was a reproduction of the said article from a news portal.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 ― Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has filed an application to quash two Sabahans’ originating summons over the PAS president’s alleged seditious remark against Christians which was published in a newspaper, five years ago.
The application was filed by Abdul Hadi as the defendant through Messrs Yusfarizal Aziz and Zaid yesterday.
