Sustained wind of 2535 mph is likely with gusts to 55 mph. High pressure will keep the weather dry and mild through early wednesday. Tuesday highs will likely be the warmest temperatures of the year to date. The next chance of rain and snow arrives on wednesday, as a pacific trough pushes inland. It will be warm and windy to start, with gusty southerly wind east of the sierra crest and snow levels above 8000. By wednesday night, temperatures and snow levels will fall rapidly as a cold front moves through. Expect Winter Travel in the sierra, with some slippery spots thursday morning down to 5000. This is not a big snowstorm but it will bring in milder air and cause snow to break out. This evening, temperatures in the teens. It will feel like 510 degrees with light wind. Switching gears now to weather. Its a frigid night. And we might have a dicey sunday and monday ahead of us right jeff . Jeff flurries and snow leading edge of colder air moving into the tristate. Expect to wake up on saturday with temps in the low doubledigits, and wind chills making it feel as cold as 11. Saturday afternoon will offer little in the way of warmth with highs only in the mid teens. Again, wind chills will make it feel like 0 or colder. Sunday looks like another cold day with highs sin the mid 20s. We are keeping a close eye on the late sunday monday timeframe. Right now model guidance is showing a couple of different solutions. We could see snow as early as sunday afternoon, with as little as an inch or two or possibly much more , as this whole thing could continue into monday.
