Following the outbreak of anthrax disease in the country, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has inaugurated a modern abattoir in the Koya community of Karu Local Government Area of the state, to promote hygiene in the process of slaughtering animals in the area.
The abductors of the information and culture commissioner in Nasarawa State, Lawal Yakubu have demanded a ransom of N100 million. The Nigeria Police Force earlier confirmed the kidnapping of Lawal at his residence in Nasarawa Eggon. This was contained in a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Nansel Ramhan, made available to journalists on Tuesday morning. According to the statement, the attention of policemen on routine patrol in the Nasarawa Eggon local council area was drawn to the sound of gunshots around 8.45 pm on Monday.
