Ibrahim Ma,aji, the Special Adviser to Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle on political affairs, has been abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits. It was learnt that Ma,aji was abducted on Saturday in his house in Mareri area in Gusau town. The victim’s family said that the bandits were yet to reach out to them. Last Saturday, Governor Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC) lost his reelection bid to Lawal Dare of the Peoples Democratic Party which means he would hand over by May 29.
Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has lost his reelection bid to Lawal Dare of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The returning officer for the election, Professor Kasimu Shehu, said Dare scored 377,726 votes to defeat Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle who polled 311, 976 votes. SaharaReporters had on Monday reported that the Zamfara State chapter of the PDP accused the Matawalle-led state government of kidnapping the returning officer of the Maradun local government area.
