congress has done a lot of things that can restrict the name of the population and the good of individuals. george washington required people to have a gun at home to defend the country. in the heart of atlanta case, the justices said you can be a racist and own a motel, but you still have to rent the room to a black person. if you own a restaurant, you still have to serve a black person in the restaurant. that violates people s freedom but it s still constitutionally it s constitutional to do that. and this requirement is part of that same pattern. let me go back to jenny beth warren. do you think it was constitutional for governor romney to pass a law in massachusetts to require people to have health insurance? it was at the state level rather than the federal government. if that s what the people want in his state, i understand their right to choose to do that. i think the reason we re seeing that he s not the clear nominee at this point is because he passed that law in massac
here in congress but across the country. shepard: health care is a tough issue for romney who passed a controversial law in massachusetts which is seen as a forerunner to obamacare. and now like from washington, and rick santorum is not letting this moment slide by, carl. carl: a good moment and a good weekend, winning the louisiana primary by a 2-1 margin over romney and spent last week talking about the upcoming anniversary of obamacare, the two year anniversary that just happened and the supreme court arguments here in washington. so, rick santorum by going to the steps of the supreme court and hammering romney he keeps that rhetoric going in hopes of trying to make romney look like an unfortunate frontrunner who should not be the nominee and he was tough today. there is only one candidate who has the chance of winning the republican nomination who can make this the central issue that the be a winning issue for us to win the presidency back and that s rick santorum.

look at this. the number one issue to all of the voters today was the economy. and not by a little bit. a massive amount. this is just one of the indicators here. look at who voted today. the biggest single group in this was people who made $50,000 to $100,000 a year. but if you look at everybody from $200,000 on down in income, down here we have $200,000 or more, look at who won in these categories. rick santorum, at least in terms of what we heard from the exit polls, everybody in each of these categories said they wanted him and they re the ones that they voted for. and look at how massively, particularly we look at the numbers down here. in this case santorum, 48%. gingrich got the sikd number. romney comes in here at 22%, tied with gingrich. but still a massive lead for santorum. even bigger when you go down here to the under 30,000. look at that. santorum, 64%. romney tied with ron paul at 12%. the only area in which mitt romney won was in people who made $200,000 or mo
