By Stacy M. Brown NNPA Newswire Senior National Correspondent @StacyBrownMedia In what the White House called a significant step towards enhancing police accountability and rebuilding trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris announced the establishment of the National Law Enforcement Accountability Database. same thing with his deputy. while there is a section about getting officers more mental health and resources, the overall theme of the draft at this point is accountability. the proposed order calls for the justice department to establish the national law enforcement accountability database in order to provide a centralized repository of documents on instances of law enforcement officer misconduct. ape and pinched choke hold across law enforcement agencies and body worn camera policies across agencies and banning no-knock warrants across those agencies as with all executive orders and rules, there are exceptions. right now, the federal law enforcement officers association not commenting and same with the fraternal order of police because there is no order at this point. the white house and of justice not commenting, but something is in the works. dana: you are on top of it. thank you, david.
