Services will be held on Feb. 22 at LaVille Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Wayne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday Feb 17, 2021 at his residence. Wayne was born in Ville Platte, La on September 10, 1939 to Claude and Florence Morein. After graduating from Ville Platte High School in 1957, his law enforcement career began. Wayne joined the U.S Army and worked as a police officer for 2 years. Former State Senator Dr. Adam “John” Tassin Jr. VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for former State Senator Dr. Adam “John” Tassin, Jr., of Ville Platte will be held Monday, Dec. 28. Tassin reportedly died from complications of COVID-19 on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his death. A Bordelonville, Louisiana native, Tassin graduated the top of his class at Bordelonville High School where he lettered in three sports and was a member of multiple clubs and associations. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1965 and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
