According to the CDC, someone in the United States suffers a stroke every 40 seconds. Carmen Rodriguez, 79, is now a member of that group. It was the evening of May 15th when Carmen thought she was only suffering a harmless headache. A body was discovered near a marina on Percy Priest Lake Thursday morning. According to the Nashville Fire Department, the body was in the lake near Elm Hill Marina. Evidently, a boater spotted the body and notified authorities. Nashville's Emergency Operations responded to the call and removed the unknown subject and the Metro Nashville Police Department is investigating. The identity of the subject has not been released.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Juneteenth, a holiday celebrating the emancipation of enslaved persons in the United States, will be observed in Murfreesboro with three events this year: Authors Night on June 16, Kaleidoscope on June 17, and the Juneteenth celebration on June 18. All three events will take place at Bradley Academy Museum and Cultural Center and are free to attend.

Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Crews were dispatched to a residential fire around 4:45 Tuesday evening at just before 7:30. The blaze was on Hacienda Court. The fire was in the attic area of the home and crews had to work quickly to extinguish the flames. Thankfully, no injuries were reported
