The police have located the body of Andrew Martin, who had been missing since December.
At around 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, the police service was notified about “what was believed to be a deceased person floating in Nepahwin Lake approximately 35 m from the shoreline of Laurentian Beach,” GSPS said in a release Friday morning.

A search was initiated by members of the rural community response unit specializing in search and rescue, as well as detectives from the major crimes section. The city’s fire service contributed the use of marine vessels to access the area where the body could be seen.

I would like to express a public thank you to the guys who have been plowing a walking path all over Lake Nepahwin.
The path goes from Paris Street all the way up to Laurentian Beach, around the island in the lake, and along the Maki Avenue side and Nepahwin residences side.

The number of people using it on a nice sunny day is incredible. There are also personal ice rinks all along the way, so people are skating in those areas, people are snowshoeing on the lake and, of course, there is cross-country skiing. I am so impressed and pleased.
