Ballet Arkansas stages Peter Tchaikovsky s ballet "Sleeping Beauty," using its company of 15 professional dancers and a cast of nearly 100 community performers (age 9 and older) from all across the state, today through Sunday at the Center for the Humanities and Arts theater at the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock.
Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky s "The Nutcracker" debuted in St. Petersburg, Russia, the week before Christmas 1892, which would make this year the ballet s 130th anniversary.
To everything, there is a season. And Ballet Arkansas is wrapping up its 2021-22 season with "Four Seasons," a program of four world-premiere ballets, each by a different female choreographer, each to the corresponding violin concerto by Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi.
