Unemployment in Crawford County rose to 3.5 percent in February, according to the latest seasonal unemployment rate figures released Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.

The U.S. economy added 209,000 jobs in June. While it was a smaller increase than expected, it still lowered the unemployment rate to a solid 3.6%. The state lost 1.1 million jobs in March and April 2020. As of January 2023, more than 100% of those jobs had been recovered, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry announced Friday.
The Pennsylvania county has not yet returned to pre-pandemic levels for job availability despite the unemployment rate hitting record lows. Nationally there are 11 million open jobs but only 5.7 million unemployed workers.
