Tonight, I went to a nightclub event for the first time in more than a year. The coronavirus pandemic has had a dramatic impact on our daily lives; in some instances leading to the permanent closure of shops, restaurants, bars and more. Slowly, some businesses and venues have been permitted to reopen their doors as part of the government s roadmap out of lockdown.
Circus presents The First Dance is an official trial event that forms part of the Government’s Event Research Programme (ERP) relating to COVID-19..
The Blessed Madonna and
Fatboy Slim are being lined up to play what could be the UK s first proper dance event in 12 months.
The pandemic has crushed the clubbing landscape, leaving venues around the country unable to operate.
As part of a trial scheme, The First Dance is coming to Liverpool s Circus on April 30th and May 1st, and it will see 6,000 clubbers across two nights at Bramley-Moore Dock event, partying with no social distancing or face coverings.
April 30th is headed up by Sven Vath, with the eclectic bill also making room for
The Blessed Madonna, Jayda G, Yousef, Lauren Lo Sung, and Lewis Boardman.
