Rutherford Countyâs face covering order is expiring as the countyâs reported COVID-19 case numbers begin to decline.
Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron announced that the countyâs face covering order will be lifted effective Monday, March 15.
âWe are not out of the woods yet with the COVID-19 pandemic,â Ketron said in a news release.
The face covering order began last July and has been extended twice. Ketron called for a reinstatement last Oct. 28.
During the last two weeks of February, the county saw an average of 89.4 reported virus cases each day, according to the Tennessee Department of Healthâs website. That is a decrease of 51.1 average daily cases from the 139.5 that were reported from Feb. 1-14.
