Kern County COVID-19 growth slowest since Christmas

What's it like trying to get the COVID-19 vaccine in Ridgecrest?

At this point, it’s pretty obvious that getting a COVID-19 vaccine can be difficult. The Daily Independent reached out to readers on Facebook, asking how their experience has been trying to schedule appointments for the vaccine and how their experience went if they were able to get vaccinated.  For some, getting vaccinated was easy. Alison Dixon was one of the lucky few who was able to secure a vaccine from Ridgecrest Regional Hospital. “I received my first shot at RRH and it went smoothly . Was very impressed. We are to get second dose next Friday. Will see how that goes,” she said.

But after not seeing him the night prior, she knew something was up the morning of Jan. 18. “I wanted to give him a chance to come home before overreacting,” Watt said, but eventually their family hit the streets to try to find their missing cat. “We had spent hours searching the neighborhoods and looking into the tips we received.”
