BONTEHEUWEL - A Bonteheuwel family is demanding to know why charges have been dropped against a man accused of killing their loved one.
Lauren Dryden was robbed of her cell phone and killed while she was waiting for an e-hailing cab in Epping in November. The mother of two had just finished a night shift.
The Democratic Alliance has taken up the matter and on Monday said it had written to the police.

In November last year, Lauren Dryden, a mother of two, was on her way from work in Epping, and while waiting for an Uber, she was robbed of her cellphone and shot.
Fernando Isaacs was arrested for her murder, but was released from jail due to a lack of evidence.
Bonteheuwel ward councillor Angus McKenzie has lashed out at the police over the decision.
The DA is demanding that Western Cape police management investigate the conduct of the investigating officer in the Lauren Dryden murder case.

Last Saturday, Isaacs was the ââsubject of a preliminary investigationââ after, similar to Dryden, 31, the victim had finished her night shift when she was allegedly robbed of her cellphone in Epping. The woman was allegedly shot at, but was not injured.
