The Kernel Media Board of Directors has appointed Abbey Cutrer and Laurel Swanz as the next editors-in-chief of the Kentucky Kernel and KRNL Lifestyle + Fashion for the 2024-2025 school year. Cutrer, a University of Kentucky junior majoring in journalism with a minor in photography, currently holds the positions of managing editor and photo editor.
“Critter Ridge provides rehabilitation for raccoons and purpose for Angela Cox” was produced during the 2023 Picture Kentucky Workshop in Frankfort, Kentucky, where students were randomly assigned subjects in the area to follow and complete a photo story over the course of four days. Angela Cox was only 2 years old when nature’s bandits first.

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - Twelve McCracken County High School students have been chosen for the Governorâs Scholars Program.
McCracken County High School juniors Addison Allen, Avery Collins, Carlie England, Hillary Hollowell, Ava Kelly, Erissa Morin, Katherine Oliver, Laurel Swanz, Katelyn Walker, Wyleigh Watson, Deacon Jones and Ethan Roberts have been selected as scholars.
