UPDATE: Man Charged With Manslaughter After Deadly Laurel County Crash

London, KY, USA / SAM 103.9 FM WWEL | Today s Pop Hits Apr 22, 2021 10:59 AM Laurel County Sheriff John Root says an investigation into a fatal crash Wednesday by Lieut./Accident Reconstructionist Chris Edwards has led to manslaughter charges. Crews with the London-Laurel Rescue Squad responded to the crash on Pine Grove School Road Pine Grove Rd. around 8:55 a.m. Investigators accuse 37-year-old William Petrey of driving his pickup truck with 37-year-old Rebecca Warren in the back screaming for him to stop the truck. Deputies say Petrey ended up hitting two fence posts and a tree. Warren was thrown out of the truck and hit a barn, causing fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner’s Office. Petrey was charged with second-degree manslaughter and was taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Photo contributed LAUREL COUNTY — A 37-year-old London woman died Wednesday after she reportedly was thrown from the back of a pickup truck and hit a barn when the driver ran off the roadway and struck two fence posts and a tree. The driver was arrested for manslaughter following the crash. Rebecca Warren was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner s Office. William Petrey, age 37, of Woodbine was arrested for second-degree manslaughter and is being held in Laurel County Correctional Center. Laurel Sheriff s Lieut./Accident Reconstructionist Chris Edwards along with Laurel Sheriff s detectives and deputies investigated the crash which occurred on Pine Grove School Road, approximately 4 miles south of London at 8:55 a.m.

UPDATE: London woman dies in Thursday morning house fire

Photo by Nita Johnson Photo by Nita Johnson LAUREL COUNTY — A London woman is dead and a male was airlifted to a Lexington hospital for serious injuries following a house fire on KY 192 early Thursday morning. Flora Adams, 36, of London, was found deceased inside the residence located approximately 8 miles west of London. A male, whose name has not been released, was also located in the home and was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The fire was reported around 9:14 a.m. in the 8000 block of KY 192. Members of the Bald Rock, Keavy and Laurel County Fire Department worked to extinguish the flames and evacuate the home while the smoke boiled from the residence. The roadway was blocked to all traffic while emergency personnel responded to the situation.
