for others they just don t want to go there. jennifer fitzgerald and her 7-year-old daughter lost their home in the fire. jennifer s job doing home care has gone, too. the pair spent the night sleeping inside of a friend s car inside of a walmart parking lot. she s not the only one suddenly calling this refugee camp home. it could be worse. i could be sleeping out here where it s way freezing with nothing like a lot of people have been. reporter: that s exactly what laura whitaker is doing, sleeping outside in a tent with her grandson eli. it s very cold. it s been like 30 degrees at night. the. didn t sleep, not last night. it was so cold. i just kept myself completely wrapped around him. reporter: 9-year-old eli is putting on a brave face. he ll be homeless until his parents can save enough money to buy a trailer. it s hard. reporter: yeah, i bet. you re only 9 years old. mm-hmm. reporter: what do you miss most? just being in a bed.
