Franklin Khan s funeral to be aired on ttt on Saturday

File photo by Sureash Cholai THE funeral of late energy minister Franklin Khan, will be carried live on state-owned ttt on Saturday morning, his widow Laura Sewlal-Khan told Newsday in a text message on Friday. It can be watched on television or on the livestream at http://ttt.live. The service begins at 10 am at the Aramalaya Presbyterian Church, Tunapuna, with interment later at the Radix Cemetery at Mayaro under Anglican rites. It will be an official funeral, with Khan s hearse accompanied by a military escort. With all funerals now being limited to ten individuals in attendance under covid19 protocols, those present will be chiefly family members.

Khan died on April 17 of a heart attack due to a bleeding, undiscovered calcified cyst in his heart, probably exacerbated by his use of blood thinners. His funeral will be held at 10 am on Saturday at the Aramalaya Presbyterian Church in Tunapuna. After this his body will be taken under the military escort of an official funeral to Radix Cemetery in Mayaro for burial under Anglican rites.

Attendance at Khan s funeral being decided

Franklin Khan - THE Prime Minister was one of three people who were due to pay tribute to late energy minister Franklin Khan at his funeral service on Saturday. Khan s widow, Laura Sewlal-Khan, said this was part of the initial arrangement for the service, which takes place from 10 am at the Aramalaya Presbyterian Church in Tunapuna. After the service, Khan will be buried in a private ceremony at the Radix Cemetery in Mayaro. Khan, 63, died at his Maraval home of a heart attack on April 17. Sewlal-Khan said on Tuesday that because of the current covid19 restrictions, which only allow ten people to be present at the church and at the cemetery later, the details of who will be able to physically attend the funeral are still being worked out.
