ST. PETERS, Mo. (AP) Authorities in the St. Louis suburb of St. Peters say a 69-year-old woman strangled her daughter and cut her own throat as part of a suicide pact. Donna Scuderi was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the death of her 39-year-old daughter, Laura Scuderi. Charging documents say Laura Scuderi was found in a bedroom Friday with a plastic bag over her head, with pill bottles nearby. Donna Scuderi was found alive in a bathroom with a large knife wound. Authorities say she told officers that her daughter had been depressed and wanted to die, so they planned to kill themselves together.

ST. PETERS, Mo. A St. Charles County woman is accused of killing her adult daughter before gravely injuring herself.
Donna Scuderi, 69, was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in Laura Scuderi s death. According to the probable cause statement, Scuderi indicated she and her daughter planned to kill themselves together, but police are investigating the death.
The statement from a St. Peters police detective details what Scuderi’s husband said he found when he got home from work Friday and what Scuderi told investigators from a hospital bed days later.
