Postcards are a nostalgic, almost romantic, throwback to uncomplicated times, before social media check-ins, when people sent home beautiful photos with the simple message: Wish you were here.
Artist Laura Reeder tapped into the postcard motif for a new art installation under the railroad bridge in Swampscott, highlighting what is special about this seaside community.
“I love the way a postcard allows a picture to tell a story with less emphasis on words,” Reeder said. “A postcard can connect people to a place.”
