Corsham comes together for Liam Gilbert memorial match

Corsham Town Football Club players were pitted against a team from Knorr-Bremse on Friday. The match raised money for Wiltshire Mind and organiser Kurt James, who met Liam through playing football at Trowbridge Wanderers, said it was hugely important to also raise awareness of the mental health support available. A minute’s applause was held in memory of Liam at the beginning of the match. “It made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up,” said Kurt. “To hear everyone clap for Liam, across the stadium, did make me emotional.” The first goal was scored by Sam Houkes for Knorr-Bremse, but Corsham Town responded with a quick equaliser by Jamie Moss. A second goal, which blistered into the back of the net, soon followed from Matt Morris.
