BUCKHANNON COVID-19 shuttered many theatre programs this year, but Buckhannon Community Theatre has found a way to bring “A Christmas Carol” to an online audience Christmas Eve.
Dannie Stiles wrote and directed a special radio version that draws from the original radio version by Orson Welles as well as Charles Dickens’ novel and the BCT stage play versions by Laura Meese.
“I chose to do this project because live theatre is a standstill at the moment,” Stiles said. “I was originally chosen to direct Buckhannon Community Theatre’s summer musical this year, but we had to cancel due to COVID-19. With my extra time and speaking with many of my friends in the arts community the feeling of boredom and sadness we couldn’t create was a very common thing amongst us all. So, I started brainstorming what to do.”
