Carpenter-Boggs is the first woman to lead the Crop and Soil Sciences department, joining a growing list of female leaders in the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resources.
The awards are given annually by the WSU MLK Program. Recipients will be honored during the WSU Black Excellence Dinner at 5 p.m., April 29, in the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center on the Pullman campus and will be livestreamed.
John Stark is one of nine individuals to be selected this year as a fellow. He was nominated for the lifelong honor by Laura Lavine, professor and chair of WSU’s Department of Entomology.
Funds will support students and researchers in WSU’s Department of Entomology who are studying urban pest management and insect biology especially ants.
