The largest children's treatment centre in the province is cutting back on its autism supports. ErinoakKids has state of the art facilities in Mississauga, Brampton and Oakville. It says its not required to provide fee for service autism programs and can't afford to keep them going. But parents say this leaves them stranded, with years long waitlists to get their kids services elsewhere.
A Mississauga family says their lives have been completely disrupted after their service dog was taken away. The dog helped their 14-year-old daughter, who is non-verbal and has autism, feel comfortable in public places.
