Tyler Zanella, the former Poudre School District paraprofessional who pleaded guilty to abusing students was sentenced to a total of 12.5 years behind bars during a multi-hour hearing Friday.
A former paraprofessional in the Poudre School District received the maximum sentence after pleading guilty on Jan. 29 to several assault, child abuse and harassment charges.
Joseph Major, 27, appeared before Chief Judge Susan Blanco Wednesday morning for a hearing during which his attorney, Christen Nickel, requested that his bond be lowered to a substantially smaller cash or surety bond or a personal recognizance or co-sign personal recognizance bond; he is currently in custody at the Larimer County Jail in Fort Collins on a $100,000 cash or surety bond.
