April 8, 2021 A new scholarship has been established by Monmouth College alumni for first-year, first-generation college students. Initiated by alums Nathan and Laura Gaskill, the scholarship would give preference to first-generation college-bound students from Warren, Mercer, Henderson, and Knox counties. All recipients should be involved in Monmouth co-curricular activities and transfer students will also be eligible for the scholarship but first-year students will be given preference. The scholarship was established after the Gaskills considered supporting Monmouth’s Light This Candle Campaign, which has a goal of raising a minimum of 75 million dollars for the school’s endowment by December 31st of next year.
