The death toll in haiti is at 283 and expected to go higher. Chief meteorologist mark baden tracking the storm right now. And mark, you just got an update on the hurricanes path. Mark to start with the positive, it is further east than expected. The further away from land it stays, the less the wind damage will be. Nonetheless, it is still a very making its way to the northwest. Here is the florida coast line. Close to cape canaveral. The storm is still massive. Has a lot of power. Hurricane warnings across florida. Expected to continue the move to the north. Bit away from the coast line. May skirt right along through florida into georgia. We are starting to see the impacts and its a monster. Hurricane matthew churning ominously toward the u. S. A catastrophic category four storm for most of the day been packing onehundredforty mile anhour winds. Roughly two Million People warned to head inland. In florida. Georgia. And south carolina. Officials in many areas. Shutting down twoway traffic on major highways instead turning them into oneway evacuation routes. And, president obama has now declared a federal emergency ordering federal aid to help respond to the storm. Already in the storms wake a deadly scene in the caribbean in hard onehundred people are dead.
