The Switch Checker from Aldon Co. will help rail workers confirm that switches are lined properly for intended train movements, the company reports. Launch is expected early this year.
A two-sided, pocket-sized card, Switch Checker “teaches” workers how to “read” switch points to avoid damaging switch gearing or sending a train down the wrong track, according to Aldon. It depicts on one side, facing point views for a left-hand turnout and a right-hand turnout, and on the other, trailing point views of both switches.
