Britain has banned the recreational use and possession of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas , due to concerns over anti-social behavior and health hazards.
Currently, the non-legitimate use of nitrous oxide is controlled under the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016 (PSA) but not under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, and that is the gap the government is planning to plug in.
The Anti-Social Behaviour Action Plan will see a a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of anti-social behaviour adopted across England and Wales next year.
