Latoya Alcindor
A 32-year-old man has been charged with murder in relation to last week s killing of Latoya Alcindor, a popular Canadian events promoter, in Runaway Bay, St Ann.
The accused is Rogen Theomar Hylton, a taxi driver of Rio Bueno in Trelawny and Salem, Runaway Bay in St Ann.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) confirmed that the charge was laid against Hylton in a tweet on Thursday evening.
Hylton was arrested in Trelawny on Wednesday morning following what was described as detailed and swift investigations by the Trelawny and St Ann police.
The accused is said to have been in a relationship with Alcindor, 43, up to the time of her death.

The man who was being sought in relation to last week s murder of Latoya Alcindor, a popular Canadian events promoter, in St Ann, was arrested in Trelawny on Tuesday morning.
He was held sometime after 11 am by police personnel in the neighbouring parish.
In confirming the arrest, head of the St Ann police, Superintendent Dwight Powell, said the suspect is now in the custody of the St Ann police.
He is presently being questioned, the senior lawman reported.
The suspect is said to have been in a relationship with Alcindor up to the time of her death.
Jamaican police confirm that a male was arrested this week, but say no charges have been laid.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force is confirming that a male has been arrested in connection with the death of a Markham, Ont. woman.
Latoya Alcindor, 43, was found dead in a guest house earlier this month in Runaway Bay, about 100 kilometres northwest of Kingston.
Const. Janelle Radcliffe with the Jamaica Constabulary Force told CBC Toronto that a male suspect was arrested on Wednesday, but also said that no charges have been laid at this time.
