none of those things.
While on the one hand the party tries to portray itself as ‘diverse’ and ‘mindful of persons of color,’ the political leaders of that party behave in distinctly, overtly racist ways and they get away with it because the propagandists in the mainstream media agree with them politically.
Take Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot; she gets a triple pass because she’s a black, lesbian woman.
In recent days she raised eyebrows and drew no shortage of criticism from Americans who are legitimately trying to save our republic from culturally destructive gaslighters when she declared that on her two-year anniversary in office, she would grant one-on-one interviews with Chicago media, but only with journalists of color.
Notably, it’s one she may not like:
quit.
As you surely know, Chicago’s mayor hit the headlines this week with her decision where one-on-one interviews are concerned.
On Tuesday, Lori made it clear: No whites.
She explained via a letter to local media:
“By now, you may have heard the news that on the occasion of the two-year anniversary of my inauguration as Mayor of this great City, I will be exclusively providing one-on-one interviews with journalists of color.”
The mayor called to her identity as a nonwhite and to the “fight for diversity”:
“As a person of color, I have throughout my adult life done everything that I can to fight for diversity and inclusion in every institution that I have been a part of and being Mayor makes me uniquely situated to shine a spotlight on this most important issue.”

In the days leading up to her second anniversary as mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot made waves by announcing she would only do interviews with Black and Hispanic journalists.
Defending her move, Lightfoot said since she took office, she’s been surprised by the “overwhelming whiteness and maleness of Chicago media outlets, editorial boards, the political press corps and the City Hall press corps.” In a two-page letter she wrote to members of Chicago’s media Wednesday, Lightfoot doubled down.
“In the year 2021, with a Black lesbian mayor, a Black woman City Treasurer, a Latinx woman City Clerk, and a majority Black and Latinx City Council, the group of reporters assigned to cover City Hall is practically all white,” Lightfoot wrote. “While there are women of cover who sometimes cover my administration, there are zero women of color assigned to the City Hall beat. Zero. I find this unacceptable and I hope you do too.”
Chicago Mayor Lightfoot grants 1-on-1 interviews with only Black and Brown journalists It s time for the newsrooms to do better and build teams that reflect the make-up of our city, she stated.

Chicago’s top elected leader is making a unique decision:
Lori Lightfoot will grant media requests to the city’s press outlets marking her midway point as mayor, but she will exclusively interview with journalists of color.
Mayor Lightfoot made the announcement public in a five-part Twitter thread yesterday, writing, “I ran to break up the status quo that was failing so many. That isn’t just in City Hall. It’s a shame that in 2021, the City Hall press corps is overwhelmingly White in a city where more than half of the city identifies as Black, Latino, AAPI or Native American.”
